What is a naturopathic doctor & how can Dr. Nicole help me?Think of a naturopathic doctor this way, we are like regular doctors, but also know A LOT about natural therapies too. So when you first see a Dr. Nicole, you will have a complete health intake which includes a full physical exam. This is will help Dr. Nicole figure out where to start and what areas of your body are impacted and need attention. Once this has been established, she will begin to create a plan just for you. This plan may involve nutritional guidance & meal-planning specific for your condition, supplement review and recommendation, hormone replacement therapy, lifestyle modifications, exercise recommendations, herbal support, homeopathic recommendations, injection & intravenous (IV) therapy, and emotion/thought work. Dr. Nicole will also order and interpret any basic and specialized laboratory blood work that may be required.
Can Dr. Nicole be my primary care provider (PCP)?Unfortunately, no and here's why. It is best to consider Dr. Fujiyama as providing complementary and holistic integrative services, rather than as primary care providers. One of the main reasons is because Dr. Fujiyama does not have hospital privileges so if any emergent situation were to occur, she would not be able to admit you if needed which a primary care provider would be able to do. Because of this Dr. Fujiyama does not act as Patient’s primary care providers, and the services provided by Dr. Fujiyama are in addition to, and not a replacement for, the care of Patient’s primary care provider (PCP) or other specialists. If you do not have a PCP, we strongly encourage you to locate one for physical exams, routine services and screenings and other urgent health matters and emergencies. Primary care services are not included in the Program.
Is there a payment plan?Yes, your payment will be divided into 3 monthly payments & will be charged automatically to the credit card on file. See payment option above.
Why do we meet every week?The visits are set up weekly to offer you the best chance of success when it comes to achieving your health goals. What happens when we are implementing new goals is that people will start off strong, but then slowly start going back to old habits, get overwhelmed, frustrated, and quit. This is why New Year's goals start off strong, but most people don't see them through. Meeting weekly in the first month provides accountability to stay on track and develop new health habits while quickly troubleshooting any issues that arise.
What happens if I don't use all the visits?If you do not use all visits before your three month program ends, then those visits will not carry over. So please make sure to use them all within the three-month time frame.
What happens if I miss a week?These visits do not roll over and must be used weekly so make sure to plan ahead and schedule your visits accordingly. If there is an emergency, please contact the office and we will help you reschedule that visit.
Are the calls on Zoom or phone calls or are these in-office visits?Either one works. You will receive a zoom link for the visits, but if you would rather have phone calls please let us know. If you are local, you are invited to come into the office for your visits!
What happens after the program ends?Don't worry, you won't be left hanging! There are a few options after the program is finished that will be discussed with each client as the time approaches based on where you are & your current results.
Can I order more labs if needed?Yes! Your program includes one specialty lab, but you can order as many as you like or as needed. Dr. Nicole will let you know what tests are necessary for your current medical condition and you can always request to do more testing as well.
Does it cost more to order basic labs?We do our best to go through your insurance plan as much as possible, but there are times when your insurance will not cover these basic lab costs and we will do our best to let you know upfront the costs or the best way to order these labs. These do not include specialty labs. Specialty labs usually do not take insurance and are considered cash labs. One specialty lab (Carroll Food Evaluation) is included in the program. Dr. Nicole will advise you on the best lab to order based on your medical history, but you have the final say on which lab you would like to order. You can always purchase additional specialty labs at anytime.
What if I need to end the program early?While we don’t expect you will want to and we recommend all clients complete all visits included in the program for best results, if for some reason you need to end your program early, you may do so at any time. Please contact the office via a telephone or email. In such case, we will refund you an amount equal to the upfront payment minus any sums due for the services already provided. The amounts due for the services already provided will be computed at our non-discounted service rate of $495/hr. This means you will lose the discount you received by paying for the program. If you paid for your first month of the monthly payment plan and cancel within the first 15 days, then you will receive a full refund (minus any specialty labs ordered + $495 interpretation fee). If you paid in full and cancel within the first 15 days, then you will receive a full refund (minus any specialty labs ordered + $495 interpretation fee). After the first 15 days, if the “non-discounted” amount due for the Services already provided equals or exceeds the amount paid upfront, there will be no refund owed to client. If it is less than the amount paid upfront, the balance will be refunded to client.
What is the refund policy?If you decide in the first 7 days that you would not like to or would not be able to continue the program, then if you paid for your first month of the monthly payment plan and cancel within the first 7 days, then you will receive a full refund (minus any specialty labs ordered + a $495 initial visit fee if completed). If you paid in full and cancel within the first 7 days, then you will receive a full refund (minus any specialty labs ordered + a $495 initial visit fee if completed). After the first 7 days, we will refund you an amount equal to the upfront payment minus any sums due for the services already provided. The amounts due for the services already provided will be computed at our non-discounted service rate of $495/hr. This means you will lose the discount you received by paying for the program. If the “non-discounted” amount due for the Services already provided equals or exceeds the amount paid upfront, there will be no refund owed to client. If it is less than the amount paid upfront, the balance will be refunded to client.
